More than two decades have passed since the fall of both Voldemort and Harry Potter. The hopes of peace have faded, leaving only the grim reality of a Third War. Schools have been destroyed, alliances formed and broken, the Ministry of Magic has been replaced by the ruthless Order. The fortress school Anima Eterna--once believed to be untouchable by any of the dark forces--has fallen. Its ruins now crawl with the undead that conquered it: vampires, Inferi, and perhaps even the Eterna Necromancer, Xandros. As the ancient magic of the Eterna flood into the world once more, mere survival becomes ever-more doubtful.

The year Anima Eterna fell to the forces of the Eterna Necromancer, Xandros, other great battles were fought throughout Europe. Finally provoked into an all-out war, the Death Eater and Order factions nearly destroyed each other for control of Europe. Both factions are now decimated, with the leadership missing and/or dead. Each faction has retreated to its remaining centers of power and settled in to regroup. In the meantime, several areas within countries--and sometimes entire countries--have been left outside of the control of either the Order or the Death Eaters. Into these, the exiled forces of Anima Eterna have moved and set up "safe zones" (now solidly combined with the minor, but fierce Initiative faction). Many have joined their ranks, many with a deep-seated desire for justice--and failing that, for vengeance, at least!
