The Mafia

Civilians always say ‘the Mafia’ like they’re all just one big group. This is a mistake, because there are plenty of Mafias all over the world, although you are probably most familiar with the Sicilian and the Russian. It’s said that they’ve been fighting quiet territorial wars for years in an increasingly globalized society. Those kidnappings and killings you hear about? Some of them are orchestrated by the Mafia.

Members refer to it as ‘the family’ by times; some of these criminals, who are only one step above common thugs, have nothing but each other. Others were born into this thing and couldn’t get out if they wanted to. There are no letters of resignation in the Mafia. Most of them may be Muggles, but they have unreal access to complex technology and weaponry. In short, they will hunt you down, and you will pay.

The general public doesn’t realize that there are actually growing numbers of wizards in the Mafia. In fact, most of the actual members are unaware of this fact, as they themselves are Muggles and not really important enough to know that the organization has magic at its disposal. Many of these wizards are the higher ups, and they are much more talented than you might imagine. You don’t mess with these guys, because unlike bullets, Avada Kedavra kills every time.

They have their own agendas that are difficult to describe. To put it simply, they want respect and power, and they’ll do whatever they must to achieve their ends. Lie, cheat, torture, and kill. If you’ve ever been on the wrong end of the Mafia, count yourself lucky—you’re one of the few that’s still around to recount the tale. Whether you live or not, one thing is guaranteed: they will get their revenge.

The Mafia is about pride and it’s about honor. Cross them, and they’ll make you sorry you were ever born.
