Rules

Here at Anima Eterna, we have a few simple rules to keep the role play running smoothly. They really aren't that hard, or even anything you probably haven't seen before. But, by joining and participating, you agree to following these rules.

I. Out of Character

{Uno} When out of character, please use some sort of signal to indicate that you are.
-Examples: OoC:; OoC||; {{Blah}}; ||Blah||; {OoC}; Ect

{Due} Respect others, and treat them the way you wish to be treated. That is, after all, the golden rule, folks. And for good reason. Your charries can fight, because that's only realistic, but please don't make it a personal problem.

{Tre} Avoid full OoC posts in a role playing thread. That's what the OoC boards are for. Kthanx.

{Quattro} Make sure your display name consists of the first and last names of your character. No collective accounts, please, unless there are very special circumstances.

{Cinque} Images in signatures should be no larger than what what the page can hole without stretching. Anything posted throughout the forum (for example, under 'Character Images'), should be a reasonable size. Breaking the horizontal scroll is annoying and ugly, so avoid it.

{Sei} When a new thread is created, please post the approximate date of the role play at the top of the thread. Just a simple "January 15th, 1007" will do, or whatever the date may be. Remember, this is a real time roleplay so whatever thread you're setting up will probably be within a month of the real date. It's important to keep up, except in major plot cases.

II. Posting

{Uno} This is an advanced/literate role play. This doesn't mean every post needs to be five pages long, but, personally, I think everyone should be able to crank out four or five paragraphs. The occasional writer's block is certainly understandable, but it gets annoying when all someone ever posts is two sentences.

{Due} Along with advancedness, proper sentence structure is a must. Appropriate grammar, punctuation, spelling, and all that jazz is the stuff of life, folks. Please do remember that. Oh, remember the word 'Oracle'.

{Tre} When applying for a character, an admin will need to approve your application. If someone tells you that you need to edit something, you may do so, but don't be looking for us to point out every missed apostrophe; it's your job, as someone who is advanced/literate to know that stuff. You will be given three chances to edit (unless it's the nature of your character that is under discussion). Any more does nothing to prove advancedness/literacy.

III. Characters

{Uno} Characters should have an original first and last name. No celeb names, no characters related to originals in any way, shape or form.

{Due} Speaking of being original, let's not have the cliched veelas, werewolves, and all that jazz. You must obtain special permission for your characters to be a mix of anything besides Muggles and Wizards. To gain permission, either post a thread in the help section, make a post in the chatbox, or PM an admin. Either that or just post your application and wait for a verdict, but don't do this unless you're prepared to potentially scrap the whole thing.

{Tre} Each and every charrie is special. That does not mean {s}he is invincible or perfect. Mary Sues/Gary Stus are just annoying. This means that your character should not be described as pretty/beautiful/handsome, and try not to kill people with the flirtiness. Also, include natural faults. This does not mean having no friends, or being unpopular. I mean defects that are the own character's fault, like clumsiness, chubbiness, a tendency to lash out at others, ect.

{Quattro} You may create as many characters as you can handle; there are people who have as many as ten (or twenty, doy.) If you wish to get rid of a charrie, PM Headmistress Monelli to discuss this. Also, please don't create characters that aren't well thought-out. I know from experience that this won't help the character to really click with you, and you won't want to make posts with him/her. THINK IT THROUGH.

{Cinque} We understand the concept of having major and minor characters, meaning that is acceptable for you to create characters that are needed for a plot, but are not someone you wish to play all the time. However, please do not create characters for no reason and leave them to stagnate. That just clutters the board.

{Sei} Professors, please post a sign-up sheet under the class board; you may organize these however you like. Classes can then be posted, and those that signed up will be expected to attend.

{Otto} Professors should keep a record of who was late, who signed up but never posted, who answered questions, who turned in homework, and all that jazz, and then submit points earned for the last lesson at the start of the next.

V. Other

{Uno} Consequences. Yeah, when you don't follow the rules, bad things happen. You will be reprimanded for your actions, and if given reasonable grounds, asked to leave by an admin. If necessary, you will even be banned. So far we haven't needed to do this; please don't make yourself the first.

{Dos} This is a mature role playing site. You might see violence, drug references, swearing, and sexual content (of all pairings). If you can't handle that stuff, don't join. However, if you're posting a thread with sexual content, a label in the thread title would be appreciated. Respect the fact that not everyone wants to read that stuff. If said thread involves actual sex or nudity, please don't post on Proboards, but keep it over PM, and then PM it to an admin and we'll post it here under mature threads. We wouldn't want the Proboards people to delete, would we?

{Tre} Activeness-If you haven't posted in two weeks, and leave no reason for it, I'll assume you aren't coming back and delete your account; it's especially not fair to have your character have certain positions (professor, team captain, prefect) when you're not even here. Now, if you leave a notice, and you tell us you'll be coming back, that's another story. That's fine.

{Quattro} Above all, just have fun. This is a role play, and it's meant to be fun. Make some new friends, and have a blast. ^^
